What American shows do they air in the United Kingdom?

I live in America and I’m writing a story about a boy from UK. I need to know all the American shows (such as Jimmy Neutron and Ghost Hunters) that also air in the United Kingdom.

We have LOADS. We also have channels dedicated to American TV like Comedy Central for example.

Comedy/Sitcoms:
Scrubs
Friends
My Name is Earl
The Simpson’s
Family Guy
Malcolm in the Middle
Two and a Half Men
Frasier
Big bang Theory
Ugly Betty
Sex and The City

Cartoons:
SpoogeBob Square Pants
Futurarma
South Park
(There are loads more, I just can’t think of anymore. plus some of them are dubed from American to British accents).

Drama:
House
Lost
24
Bones
CSI Miami/New York
Dexter
Pushing Daises
Prison Break

To be honest it would be quicker to say we have 99% of American TV. We have Opera on one channel (now why would the British need to see that) we also have american news channels eg. FOX News. And I bet in America you only get a few of our programmes. Weird.

Even though I quite enjoy some of your programmes.

We get loads, like House, Lost, that annoying programme where everyone blacks out and sees their future, Desperate Housewives, Family Guy, My name is Earl. Friends and Scrubs are repeated 24/7 on E4 if that helps, I think everyone in the UK will switch those on if there’s nothing else.

There’s far too many US shows on British television if you ask me.

In France they have a percentage restriction on how much foreign material is allowed on their TV channels but unfortunately this doesn’t apply in the UK.

This probably explains why the pubs are doing a roaring trade over this side of the pond.

We also get the dreadful American remake of Life on Mars.

Why they remade it I really don’t know – Philip Glenister and John Simm were perfect as Gene and Sam. The American remake is painful, fun-free and dire.
